Stewart Quandelacy and Priscilla Lasiloo Quandelacy's double strand necklace honors a powerful Bison in pendant form skillfully carved from rich Kingman turquoise. The pendant itself measures about 1 5/8" long from the top of the elegantly carved naja or crescent shape to the bottom, 2 1/8" wide from head to swatting tail and 3/8" deep. The naja design originates with the Quandelacy family. They carve it right into the stone or shell's center instead of attaching a metal bale. This signature style was started by the late Johnny Quam and continued by his daughter family matriarch Ellen Quandelacy. A dynamic alternating heartline or breath path is from colorful red coral inlays and discerning eyes are from jet. In addition to bright spiny oyster shell beads, there are turquoise, pipestone, malachite, lapis lazuli, tiger's eye, white shell, jet and jasper beads included. A wonderful reversible pendant necklace that's about 20 1/4" to 26 1/2" long thanks to a convenient silver extension chain. The sterling silver end caps themselves are about 1 5/8" long and are included in the overall measurements. Don't miss this exciting work of wearable art.
