The artistic attention to detail and a colorful assortment of Mother Earth's materials are drool-worthy in Stewart Quandelacy's reversible pendant necklace. Taking center stage is a powerful Medicine-Bear pendant, itself measuring about 1 3/4" long including the carved "naja" or crescent shape and 1 3/4" wide. The Quandelacy family is known for this wonderful original design where the naja is carved right into the stone or shell's center instead of attaching a metal bale. It was started by the late Johnny Quam and continued by his daughter Ellen Quandelacy. Turquoise eyes and an alternating heartline or breath path are inlaid to this gorgeous chrysocolla cuprite Bear.
A generous double strand of lively turquoise, lapis lazuli, spiny oyster shell, malachite, tiger's eye, shell, coral and marble beads are joined by exquisitely sculpted animals such as bear, bushytails (Coyote, Fox or Wolf), Mountain-lion, birds, Beavers, Rabbit, Frog, Turtle and Eagle. Spirited personalities are brought out from either gold lip shell, coral, spiny oyster shell, lapis lazuli, serpentine, turquoise and cowry shell inlaid with malachite and lapis. Expressive eyes are from either red coral or turquoise. The overall length of this collectible necklace is conveniently adjustable from about 22" to 28 1/4" long. The animal's average from about 1/4" to 3/4" long and 1/2" to 1 1/4" wide.
