Minks are semiaquatic members of the weasel family who are great swimmers and land hunters. They are important predators of small mammals throughout their range keeping those populations in balance. Some ancient cultures like those in China believe it is bad luck to kill a weasel because they're wandering spirits or shen that can steal people's souls. Alvin Calavaza's wonderful mink is carved from antler and inlaid with bright turquoise eyes. About 4 1/4" long, 7/8" wide and 3/4" tall.
