In Zuni, carved frogs are an important rain-bringing animal associated with abundance and fertility. A water-yearning Frog wakes up every morning believing today will be better than yesterday. Turquoise eyes look skyward in hopes of rainfall. Karen Hustito's darling amphibian has been carved from serpentine with webbed feet. About 1 1/8" long, 1 1/8" wide and 1" tall. Karen's husband is artist Clive Hustito and their son is carver Jonas Hustito.
