Warrior Maiden

Claudia Peina's Warrior Maiden was called into battle early and didn't have time to finish her traditional hairstyle. Meticulously carved from apple coral, a shawl is decorated with finely etched geometric lines filled with jet paste, including turquoise cabochons. Hair is intricately incised and one whorl is set with turquoise. Discerning eyes are from jet paste. She stands at the ready holding a hand-stamped sterling silver shield and spear. Boots are "fastened" with inlaid turquoise buttons. About 2" tall, 7/8" wide and 5/8" deep.
