Round turquoise in mother-of-pearl eyes are hopeful as an indigenous Zuni travertine Frog waits for the sky to pour rain. Turquoise inlays and a clam shell, mother-of-pearl and turquoise bead offering bundle are attached to this approximately 2 5/8" long, 2 3/4" wide and 1 1/4" tall delightful amphibian carving by Delvin Leekya. In Zuni traditional ways, frogs are a rain-bringing fetish, associated with abundance, fertility and cleansing.
