Artist Ruben Najera is from the greater Laate family of Zuni carvers. His brother is noted artist Esteban Najera. We love Ruben's attention to detail and creativity always bestowed to animal carvings as seen in a delightful Hummingbird in a tiny glass cloche. A rose blossom meticulously carved from perhaps pine cone or wood, gifts nectar to a shimmering mother-of-pearl hummingbird. Eyes are sweetly drilled. Dimensions of this collectible treat in their entirety are about 1 3/4" tall, 1" wide and 1" deep.
