Crushed turquoise inlays highlight plentiful corn kernels in the late Darrell Westika's tall Corn-Maiden who wears a traditional tablita headdress. Lovingly carved from sandstone which is a sedimentary rock consisting of sand, usually quartz, that is held together by various substances such as silica, calcium carbonate, iron oxide or clay. An offering necklace is laced with amazing clam shell, turquoise and dyed coral beads. Facial features are from crushed turquoise inlays. Standing in power, dimensions of this Corn Maiden are approximately 9" tall, 3" wide and 1 3/4" deep.
