Smooth Dolphin

Herbert Halate's agile and playful dolphin from jet chases schools of fish close to shore. It also enjoys leaping out of water and riding the wake of boats. Eyes are from turquoise inlays. Herbert started carving around the age of eleven or twelve, learning from his father Leonard Halate (d). Herbert seeks the smoothest of finishes for his animal fetishes. About 3 1/4" long, 7/8" wide and 1 1/8" tall.
