Shiva Lingam stone is a sacred rock found only on the banks of the Narmada River in India, one of seven holy sites. It is held as a revitalizing and calming stone, among other attributes. Kateri Quandelacy Sanchez carved a serene Corn Maiden from one of these incredible stones. Interestingly, the first carving she made was a Corn Maiden when she was very young. Corn kernels are etched while an overlaid soothing face is from iridescent gold lip shell. Features are filled with jet paste. An angel skin coral cabochon adorns. Hovering dragonfly companions and stars adorn an ultra smooth shawl. This nicely weighty carving measures about 3 1/8" tall, 1 3/4" wide and 1 5/8" deep.
