Animal: Bushytail, Material: Marble
This offering is sold.
The Dene First Nation shares a traditional story telling of an Arctic fox that saves The People from starvation by bringing them caribou. A resting arctic Fox (Wolf or Coyote) happily lives near the peaceful North Pole keeping warm by wrapping a fluffy tail around like a cozy blanket. Lovingly carved from marble by Shannon Waatsa, expressive facial features are from jet inlays, while pointy ears have etching accents. Chubby paws are incised. Sometimes wise arctic foxes will follow a hunting polar bear in hopes of an easy meal from nutritious leftovers. About 2 5/8" long, 2 1/8" wide and 1 3/4" tall.
