Jonathan Natewa was taught by Russell Shack, an innovator of the sgraffito-style of fetishes. The age-old technique is one in which a surface is incised to reveal a ground of contrasting color. Just look at the intricate etched pattern on reptile's carapace showcasing absolutely lovely sgraffito treatment accented with turquoise inlays. Turquoise inlaid eyes help this delightful marble Turtle through its active days.
