Freddie Leekya's late grandfather Leekya Deyuse was born in 1889. He is an important Zuni Pueblo artist known for animal carvings, necklaces and human figurines. Freddie's scholarly Rabbit examines the fascinating pages of a little gold lip shell and turquoise book. Carved from local Zuni travertine, this educated bunny has turquoise inlaid eyes, a pen shell nose and a tiny coral tongue. An adorable etched bandana has turquoise inlays. About 3" tall, 1 1/4" wide and 1 3/4" deep.
