Royston Turquoise Corn Cuff Bracelet

By Anthony Lovato, Kewa (Santo Domingo)

This offering is sold.

Anthony Lovato's outstanding corn cuff bracelet is handmade from tufa cast sterling silver. He starts out by harvesting the tufa sandstone from the Hopi Reservation. Back in the studio, a hand saw is used to slice the tufa into manageable portions. Then meticulously carved designs are worked into the sandstone which can take days. Molten silver is then poured into the block and cools later. Anthony's trademark corn motifs are inspired from the petroglyphs and ancient sites at Chaco Canyon and Mesa Verde. He says that corn evokes family. The collectible cuff is further beautified with a marvelous Royston turquoise cabochon. It's signed along with wonderful designs like a flute-playing Kokopelli, spiral sun, lightning element, a unifying hand and other geometric patterning. The cuff bracelet's entire inner circumference is about 6 1/4" including the opening of 1". The bracelet is about 1 7/8" wide tapering to 3/4".
