In the southwestern region of the United States, some mines yield cuprite which is a stunning, deep crimson-red ore of copper. Other places on Mother Earth give cuprite as well. Some feel the stone anchors you in the present. Dee Edaakie's playful domestic kitten is sculpted from colorful cuprite to a size of roughly 1 1/2" long, 3/4" wide and 1 1/2" tall. Its tail is amazing. A slim vein of perhaps malachite or chrysocolla exists in the piece. Something's surely caught the attention of this turquoise-eyed sweet feline.
