Owl is carved from tufa which is a gorgeous type of porous volcanic stone in Lionel Sanchez's nicely-sized piece that measures about 7 1/2" tall, 4 1/4" wide and 4 1/4" deep. Eyes are etched and watchful over a safely nestled owlet brood. These babies are hewn from a variety of neat found stones. Owls are enchanting, chiefly nocturnal birds of prey. Surprisingly, their heads can swivel about 270 degrees in either direction affording them extraordinary visual access. Extremely sensitive hearing also benefits these analytical raptors, whose flight is beautifully silent.
