The illustrations in Frank Hamilton Cushing's 1883 book Zuni Fetishes has served as artistic inspiration for Lorandina Sheche and her family. Created from magnesite and calcite, a wonderful Coyote (Fox or Wolf) pair are in the old-style of carving. Eyes are from colorful red coral inlays, while a handsome serpentine point is accompanied by a branch coral and turquoise nugget. Beneficial coyotes are a keystone species because their presence or absence has a significant impact on ecosystems. Approximately 2 3/4" long, 7/8" wide and 1" tall.
