This lovely lilac purple Medicine-bear (or Bear) comes from Melvin Sandoval and is carved from New Mexico fluorite. The medicine bear teaches us the importance of restoration, of taking time for ourselves and letting our bodies and minds heal. These special carvings are reminders to respect our bodies, and to remember that whatever journey we may be on, it’s important to return to our “dens” regularly.
Melvin’s fluorite medicine bear is complete with a offering bundle of a point and heishe and turquoise beads on what might be considered the “outside" of the carving where the stone features it’s rough exterior. The “inside” features beautiful purple ripples of the fluorite and may be reminiscent of the beautiful wilderness within ourselves. This carving is 1 ¾” long, 1 ⅛” wide including the bundle, and 1 ¾” tall.
