An attentive Mountain-lion mother with living eyes from sky blue turquoise inlays cares for her tiny cubs as they nurse. She gently grooms one of them by licking the top of its precious head. Mountain lion cubs are born with camouflaging spots and rings on their fur but as they grow these distinctive markings fade. The bottom of the Zuni travertine piece has a beautifully etched scene of Father Sun over Dowa Yalanne, along with Bryston Bowannie's incised signature "BB". About 4" long, 1 5/8" wide and 1 1/2" tall.
