Katsinas are actually called tithu or katsintithu by Hopi People. Katsinam are powerful supernatural beings who function as messengers between the spiritual worlds. Intricately hand-carved by Adrian Leon from the traditional material of cottonwood and hand-painted with bold acrylic paints, a miniature standing figure represents the Hopi Crow Katsina. The tiny details are wonderful including feathers, pipe cleaner, cloth and cotton thread adorning this wonderful woodwork. About 2 1/4" tall, 1 1/4" wide and 1" deep, signed by the artist.
