Pansy Natachu's father was noted artist Leonard Halate who started producing stone animal carvings in the 1940's. Pansy and her siblings, Reva Halate, Marvelita Phillips and Herbert Halate, continue the tradition. Her latest offering is a hovering
Hummingbird whose triangular turquoise overlaid feathers catch the Zuni sunlight as it darts and hovers like a living prism. Sculpted from refreshing spiny oyster shell, this jewel in the sky has turquoise eyes and a fabulous sterling silver bill. About 3 7/8" in wingspan, 1" tall and 1 3/4" deep from beak to tail.
