Full of infinite wisdom, Freddie Leekya's Owl is a stoic watcher. Called the Night Grandfather at Zuni, owls can be regarded as a guide, teaching us to listen to our inner directional voice. With a face of pen shell and intense turquoise eyes that would fit a storybook or a fable, Freddie's owl sits in quiet observance. Perhaps this owl is watching prey from afar, or silently witnessing an ancient story unfolding from its perch. The Zuni travertine has a wonderful tawny quality to it, like the speckled feathers that cover the living Night Grandfather. Sitting at about 3" tall, 1" wide, and 2" deep, wonderfully subtle incised lines indicate strong wings and tail feathers.
