The Hopi Cold Bringing Woman Katsina prompts the white cold of the winter season. She carries bundles of reeds used as traditional combs to rumple people's hair. Alvin Leon's wonderful katsina doll is carved from cottonwood and painted with acrylic paints. Leather, yucca, feathers, fur and embroidery thread details this fine woodwork. Measurements are about 4 1/4" tall, 2 1/4" wide and 1 3/4" deep, including the base. Signed by the artist.
