Old-growth forests are shrinking in the United States and Canada because of the high value of timber. Open grasslands are dwindling too. These are places where owls call home. We can help by leaving old trees in place that have natural holes where they need to nest. Freddie Leekya employed the age-old technique of sgraffito ornamentation to create lovely body, face and tail plumage on a Zuni travertine Owl. Incised talons are a sweet touch as well.
