A Stellar's Jay is an abundant bird in New Mexico especially in coniferous forests and surrounding foothills recognizable by a black crest with distinctive white streaks. And of course, a body showcases beautiful blue plumage. Several subspecies are found throughout the great Rocky Mountains. Carved from lively sodalite, Daphne and Leland Boone's darling crested jaybird has turquoise inlaid eyes. Wings are cleanly etched. It has happily flown in measuring about 1 5/8" tall, 3/4" wide and 2" long.
