Far Traveling Hummingbird

By Salvador Romero, Cochiti

Animal: Hummingbird, Material: Found Stone
This offering is sold.

Hummingbirds fly more than 5,000 miles per year, from Central Mexico to Alaska and back. We see them here in New Mexico from July to early fall. The epic migration of these tiny warriors reminds us to keep going and never give up. Salvador Romero carved this Hummingbird from a stone he found on Cochiti Pueblo land. With a sleek aerodynamic body this bird is about 6 1/2" long, 1 1/4" wide, 1 3/4" tall.
