Rosita Kaamasee comes from the late George Cheechee Haloo family of Zuni artists. He is one of the most important carvers, known for his fetish necklaces. He passed on his extensive knowledge to his relatives. Rosita is renowned for her necklaces and is a wonderful Zuni elder.
Continuing in the extraordinary fetish necklace tradition, Rosita's hand-carved many feathered friends and Bears in this approximate 27" long ultra-colorful double-strand necklace. She's utilized scrumptious materials such as coral, turquoise, lapis lazuli, gold lip shell, Picasso marble, malachite, fluorite, pink coral, onyx, serpentine, plus purple and orange spiny oyster shell. Each sweet animal has eyes that are filled with jet paste. The unique animal's average from about 5/8" to 1 1/4" long. They are strung with gorgeous baby olive snail heishe beads.
