Chad Quandelacy descends from the great Quandelacy family of Zuni artists. His father is Stewart Quandelacy and his mother is Priscilla Lasiloo Quandelacy, both famous carvers. Chad is well-known for gorgeous double-sided mosaic carvings like this labradorite Bear with emerging Maiden sisters. Their soothing faces are from either overlaid turquoise or verdant malachite, etched and accented with jet paste. The powerful bear's eyes are from colorful red coral inlays. The exciting mosaic is set with vibrant turquoise, coral, spiny oyster shell, pen shell, lapis lazuli and mother-of-pearl pieces. Permanently presented on a base from rich jet, dimensions all together are approximately 2 1/2" tall, 1" wide and 2" deep.
