Salvador Romero's gorgeous Bear has been carved from found stone with an amazing chert point attached in a lovely side offering bundle. Chert is a compact rock consisting essentially of microcrystalline quartz. In the old days, Indigenous Peoples made projectile points from materials that were easy to pressure-flake into small triangular shapes with sharp edges like jasper, obsidian and a few varieties of chert. They were roughly triangular in shape with flat to concave bases. These arrow points were essential in hunting and warfare. About 4" long, 1 3/8" wide and 2" tall.
