The cool Zuni night air flows through the fur of the Bat who chases down its prey in complete darkness using echolocation which is a natural process for locating distant and invisible objects. Jonas Hustito's wonderful gliding mammal is carved from colorful azurite with natural green areas on the underbelly. Azurite is an azure-blue mineral associated with copper deposits. Eyes are from turquoise inlays. Approximately 1 3/4" long, 1 7/8" wide and 1/4" tall.
