Mosaic Flute-Player Pendant

By Allison Melton, Kewa (Santo Domingo)

This offering is sold.
The Flute Player sometimes called Kokopelli is linked with fertility, agriculture and has a rain association for the A:Shiwi (The People). Allison Melton's mosaic pendant features a delightful flute-playing being artfully arranged from sterling silver, coral, gold lip shell and perhaps quartz or another natural material. Many turquoise and chrysocolla pieces serve as a colorful backdrop to the marching musician whose flute releases melodious musical notes. The unique design is overlaid on a lovely bivalve shell with clever patching from a piece of melon shell. Including the handmade sterling silver bale, dimensions of this fabulous pendant are about 1 5/8" long, 1 1/4" wide and 1/2" deep.
