Vince Chavez's Zuni travertine Bison has blue green eyes of inlaid azurite. While not a traditional fetish subject for the Zunis, all animals have “medicine” and Bison reminds us of abundance and prayer. This light colored bison has a shaggy mane texturized with fine incising with a matte finish while the rest of the carving has a smooth polish. Vince captured the tail mid-flick adding a sense of movement. The bison measures about 3 1/2" long, 1 3/4" wide by 2 5/8" tall.
