Andrew Quam is from the greater Johnny Quam (d), Andrew Emerson Quam (d) and Bossie Quam (d) family of recognized Zuni artists. Andrew's mother was Rosalia Quam (d) who learned the art from her step-father George Cheechee Haloo (d). She was well-known for stringing bird fetishes and also for her wonderful horse, frog and owl carvings. Rosalia and her husband Andrew Emerson Quam taught their children, including Andrew, the honored art.
Andrew's feathered friend takes to the Zuni skies in pendant form, carved from cow bone with turquoise wing accents and endearing eyes. Including the silver bale fixture, this flying bird pendant is about 2 1/2" long and 2" wide. The silver snake chain is not included but is available and sold separately here.
