Wonderful Woolly Mammoth

By Salvador Romero, Cochiti

Animal: Woolly Mammoth, Material: Found Stone
This offering is sold.
Fascinating woolly mammoths are an extinct species of elephant found in fossil deposits of the Pleistocene and Holocene epochs. The woolly mammoth was known for its gigantic furry body and huge tusks. Salvador Romero's woolly mammoth is a wonderful carving from found stone. We love its curled trunk and tusks, as well as the rounded hump on the head. Mammoths stored excess fat and muscle on their heads and shoulders, giving them a humped appearance. About 6 3/8" long, 1 1/4" wide and 3 3/8" tall.
