Wonderful Armadillo

By Hudson Sandy

Animal: Armadillo, Material: Picasso Marble
This offering is sold.
In ancient days, giant armadillos walked the earth. They belong to the extinct genus Glyptodon, of the Pleistocene Epoch. They had a body covered by a horny and bony armor. Several years ago, a farmer in Argentina discovered four of these car-sized fossilized armadillos at the bottom of a dried out river bed. You can have your own sweet armadillo at a fraction of the size, measuring approximately 3" long, 7/8" wide and 1 3/8" tall. It's so beautifully carved in Picasso marble by Hudson Sandy, an outstanding artist. Eyes are wonderful, they're from jet in turquoise inlays.
