Wolves Belong

By Salvador Romero, Cochiti

Animal: Wolf, Material: Found Stone
This offering is sold.

The Creator made no mistakes: wolves belong and are here for a reason. They're essential in keeping predator and prey in balance. The leftovers provide food for others. In many environments, they keep cervids on the move preventing over grazing and erosion of water sources. Respected for their spiritual significance, wolves are associated with strong hunting powers by Pueblo cultures. Salvador Romero's poignant Wolf (Coyote or Fox) is essentially carved from a found stone he specifically chose off the Cochiti Pueblo homelands. A dynamic chert point with various stones and perhaps shell beads is beautifully nestled above. About 7 1/2" long, 1 3/4" wide and 3 1/2" tall.
