Cold-blooded and camouflaging lizards rely on heat sources such as sun-warmed rocks to help regulate body temperature. They are quiet, quick and able to escape danger by leaving their tail behind if necessary, possibly growing another in the future.

Lizards teach us the importance of frequently rejuvenating ourselves in order to function properly. In life, we might have to let go of something, perhaps a part of ourselves, someone or a situation in order to move forward. These amazing reptiles can symbolize the need to rebuild areas of one’s mind and heart in order to start anew.

Bernie Laselute's wonderful Lizard is about 2 1/2" long, 7/8" wide and 3/4" tall, with expressive eyes from turquoise. The speckles within the watermelon serpentine are amazing.
