United Bison & Cowbird

By Maegan Shetima

This offering is sold.
In a symbiotic relationship, a Bison (or buffalo) and black bird unite. Cowbirds are often seen hunting on a bison whose powerful hooves flush out insects as it moves around. Mean biting flies and other annoying creatures are always a problem for bison during the scorching hot summer months. Several bird species including the cowbird will help control this summertime problem by gorging itself on an abundance of troublesome pests. Maegan Shetima's resting bison has jet eyes inlaid to a good-looking Picasso marble. The helpful feathered friend has been carved from amazing obsidian. Together they measure about 2 1/4" long, 7/8" wide and 1 5/8" tall.
