Farlan and Paulette Quam's bears are some of the best because they capture the true spirit of these important animals. This husband and wife carving team descend from the greater Andrew Emerson Quam (d) and Bossie Quam (d) family of Zuni artists. Their Bear's coat is well incised, indicating fur. Heartfelt turquoise eyes are set into a slightly turned head. Red coral, turquoise and somewhat clear beads, perhaps quartz, compose the offering bundle of thanks. About 2" long, 1" wide and 1 3/8" tall, hewn from always fascinating Picasso marble.
