Noah Pajarito's gorgeous tufa cast sterling silver tree pendant was delicately carved into a soft tufa stone a compressed volcanic ash material, before molten silver was poured into the carved cast. Tufa is easier to carve than sandstone and its porous surface leaves a unique texture once the metal has cooled. Tufa casting is a labor-intensive process including visualizing your final product in reverse as it is carved into the stone. The tufa molds can only be used once, as they are destroyed in the removal of the cooled silver piece. Signed by the artist, the pendant hangs about 2" long by 1 1/2" wide, with and open pattern between the tree's branches. The sterling silver chain photographed is not included but can be purchased separately here
