Titanium Kyanite Porcupine

A porcupine has thousands of sharp quills that will make an attacker feel the consequences. Abby Panteah's fabulous porcupine has been carved from an iridescent titanium kyanite with a magical metallic sheen. It is a man-made stone created by bonding thin layers of titanium onto natural kyanite crystals through a special process called vapor deposition. Kyanite itself is found as long, thin blade-shaped crystals in metamorphic rocks, the perfect mineral to represent a porcupine's prickles. Friendly eyes are from cultured opal inlays by Clayton Panteah. About 1 5/8" long, 1/4" wide and 1" tall.
