Bears go into a resting state called torpor during the lean winter months. Zuni bear fetish carvings with rounded backs are meant to honor that place of rest, reminding us to take the time to heal as well. They are called Medicine-Bears like Cameron Kalestewa's incredible serpentine one. An alternating heartline or breath path is cleanly set with sections of turquoise, mother-of-pearl, jet and lapis lazuli. Friendly eyes are from azurite inlays. About 3 1/2" long, 1 1/8" wide and 2 1/4" tall.
