Beavers like Indigenous Peoples are survivors of colonization. Both are great architects of the natural world. Beavers design ponds that help other wildlife thrive and in turn, teach us to live in the right relationship with other living beings, as Native Peoples have always known. Indigenous ways of doing things is not myth or superstition but is a framework to better perceive relationships between beaver and other animal species, informing ecological restoration. Herbert Halate's wonderful Beaver has been carved from jet and inlaid with turquoise eyes. About 3 1/2" long, 1 1/4" wide and 1 1/4" tall.
