Sunning Snakelet

By David Chavez Jr.

Animal: Snake, Material: Serpentine
This offering is sold.
A baby Rattlesnake suns itself on a mild winter's day. Most snakes brumate for the cold season but some reptiles like garter snakes are more cold tolerant and may awaken during the freezing months. This precious snakelet is carved by David Chavez, Jr. from a serpentine with flowing white lines that resemble a natural heartline or breath path. Eyes are from sky-blue turquoise inlays. It has a small etched rattle on the tip of its tail. About 2 1/2" long, 5/8" wide and 3/8" tall.
