Llamas or alpacas belong to the camel family. They are fascinating and peaceful animals that have been domesticated for centuries by Native peoples of South America. In fact, the llama is the national symbol of Peru. Llamas are used as therapy animals because of their assuring presence.
Alvin Calavaza's soothing llama (or alpaca) has been carved from Zuni cedar wood and incised all over for a nice coat. Turquoise inlaid eyes give off an alert expression to this approximate 2 3/4" tall, 2" long and 3/4" wide fetish.
