Noted Zuni Pueblo potter Carlos Laate along his jeweler wife Roxanne Seoutewa have created a traditional olla jar scaled down to about palm size measuring about 3 1/2" tall, 3 3/4" wide by 3 3/4" in diameter. Olla is a Spanish term describing an earthen pot used to hold water, food and other things. The traditionally sourced natural clay and mineral pigments are worked by hand. You can still see the touch of their hands inside the inner rim as they coiled this exquisite piece. The matte hued designs pop against the beautifully polished red body. Signed by the artists.
