A shy armadillo pup greets the world with a soft shell that feels like leather but within a few days will harden making for great armor. They can roll up into a ball within hours of being born. Karen Zunie's baby armadillo is a precious mammal at about 1 5/8" long, 1" wide and 3/4" tall. Eyes are from turquoise and the serpentine specimen shows wonderfully etched details.
