A Grandmother sways gracefully with an olla jar on one side of this luminous gold lip mother of pearl shell carving and is joined by two Corn Maidens
on the reverse with a third creatively hiding on the edge of the shell. Created by Sandra Quandelacy, the larger corn maiden has a face of overlaid turquoise while the others are embellished with inlaid pieces of turquoise, jet, lapis, and red coral. Incised and jet darkened Dragonflies flutter around this carving that is full of feminine energy. This piece stands on a marble base with crushed turquoise and measures about 3 1/2" tall, 2 1/4" wide by 1" deep.
