Evalena Boone descends from the noted and important Teddy Weahkee (d) family of Zuni Pueblo artists. Her mother is Lena Boone and her grandmother was the late Edna Leki. Evalena's brother is carver Leland Boone. Evalena's coral-eyed Bear is presented in turquoise, a revered stone used traditionally, ceremonially and even in medicinal ways by Indigenous peoples since time immemorial. Turquoise can represent the endless blue sky and life-giving water too. About 1 3/4" long, 3/4" wide and 1" tall.
