Maegan Shetima's heartfelt "Praying
Frog" has been carved from one piece of handsome serpentine. Resting a top an arrow point, a jet in amber-eyed amphibian offers turquoise and asks the Creator to send life-giving rain for all. In Zuni Pueblo, frogs often appear on prayer bowls and dances are given asking for water in the form of rain or snow. They’re considered a major rain-bringing fetish, associated with abundance, fertility and cleansing. About 1 1/2" long, 7/8" wide and 1 7/8" tall.
